Daily rank tracker: your Google positions, every day.

KeyRank is a daily rank checker for your keywords. It does daily keyword rank tracking in Google down to position 100, and shows who sits above you.

Free: weekly, top 30. From $9/month: daily, top 100.

About 200 people have signed up so far. The developer tracks around 1,000 of his own keywords on it.

In short: A daily rank tracker checks where your pages rank in Google for chosen keywords once a day and keeps the history. KeyRank does this on every paid plan, down to position 100. It stores the full results page for each keyword and day, so you see who moved above you.

Why the check day matters

A weekly check tells you a position moved. A daily check tells you which day. That is the difference between "something changed last week" and "we dropped the morning after the title tag deploy".

With the day, you can match a move to its cause:

  • A deploy. You changed a title, a template or internal links. Did the position move the next day or not at all?
  • A Google update. If many keywords shift on the same date, the cause is Google, not your page.
  • A competitor page. Open that day's results and see which URL moved in above you.

Daily keyword rank tracking also shows noise. Positions bounce a few places for ordinary reasons. With seven columns a week you can tell a bounce from a trend. With one, you can't.

KeyRank rank table: eight keywords as rows, seven daily columns, position numbers with green and red day-over-day changes
The rank table: one column per day, colour on every move. Sample project.

What a daily rank checker stores

A position number says where you are. It doesn't say why. So each daily check keeps more than the number.

  • The full top 100. Every URL and title for every keyword, every day. A drop from 4 to 9 comes with the five pages that moved in above you.
  • Notes on any date. Write "new title tag" on the day you shipped it and read it next to the position change.
  • A competitor table. KeyRank builds it from the stored results pages. For each domain you see how many of your keywords it ranks for and its median position. You add no competitors by hand.
KeyRank SERP analysis: your coverage, median position and top 10 rate, then a top competitors table with coverage, median position and visibility per domain
Top competitors, built from the SERPs of the keywords you track. Sample project.

Depth matters here too. A new page often sits at 60 or 80 for weeks. A tracker that stops at 30 reports it as not ranked until it breaks into the top 30. KeyRank shows the climb from 80.

How daily tracking works

  1. Create a project with your domain, country, language and device.
  2. Paste your keywords. Newlines, commas or semicolons all work. Position data may take up to 24 hours to appear.
  3. From then on, each keyword gets one check a day on a paid plan. A new column appears in the table, and moves are coloured green or red.
  4. Open any column to see the full results page for that day, or add a note to it.

History starts on the day you add a keyword. It does not backfill, so add keywords before the change you want to measure, not after.

Who it fits

KeyRank suits people who track rankings for their own sites: niche-site owners, freelancers with a few client domains, and developers who handle SEO next to code. If you ship changes often and want to know what each one did, the daily column is the point.

It does not suit agencies that need white-label reports, many seats or an API. If you check rankings twice a month, the free plan's weekly check is enough.

Daily on every paid plan

Plans differ in keyword count, check frequency and depth. Every feature is in every plan, including the free one.

What KeyRank doesn't do

One developer builds this, and it does one job. Check these before you sign up.

  • One device per project. To track desktop and mobile, make two projects. Both count against your keyword total.
  • Google only. No Bing, no YouTube, no SERP feature tracking, no city-level locations.
  • No on-demand refresh. You can't trigger a check. New keywords show data within 24 hours.
  • No API yet. Export a CSV or a PDF report instead.
  • It tops out at 1,000 keywords. Bigger lists need a different tool.

There is also no backlink index, site audit or keyword research. Pair KeyRank with Google Search Console for those.

Questions & answers

Is there a free daily rank checker?

Not daily. The free plan tracks 50 keywords with a weekly check and top 30 depth. Daily checks start on the $9 Starter plan, which tracks 50 keywords to the top 100. Every other feature is in the free plan, and it needs no credit card.

How often does KeyRank check rankings?

Every keyword on a paid plan gets one check a day. Free plan keywords get one check a week. You don't trigger anything. Open the dashboard and the latest column is there.

Does daily checking track the top 100?

Yes, on every paid plan. A page ranking 80 shows as 80 instead of not ranked. The free plan stops at the top 30. Each day's full SERP is stored, so you can open any past date.

Can I check rankings on demand?

No. KeyRank checks on its own schedule and has no refresh button. After you add a keyword, its first position can take up to 24 hours to appear. For a one-off live check, search Google yourself.

How many keywords can I track daily?

50 on Starter, 200 on Growth, 500 on Pro and 1,000 on Business. Each keyword is checked every day. Business is the largest plan. Each device, country and language counts as its own project.

Can I export daily rankings?

Yes. Every plan includes a CSV export of a project's keyword-by-date table and a PDF report. A weekly email report lists wins, drops and competitors. There is no API yet.

Does a daily rank tracker cost more than a weekly one?

Not here. Daily and weekly differ only by plan: Starter at $9 a month checks daily. Ahrefs, for example, checks weekly by default and sells daily updates as an add-on. See the comparison pages for the numbers.
